Q: DO I NEED TO BOOK MY ROOM AT THE CHATEAU?

A: Nope! We have rented the whole Chateau for the (2) nights. We have you covered for the room, buy information pills food and drinks at our specific events and the tour on Saturday. Click here to see the Schedule of Events. You just need to get yourself to La Cheneviere and pick up any extras
(Bar service, look room service, etc. can be charged to your card).
Please feel free to call La Cheneviere directly on +33 2 3151 2525 or email them to extend your stay: reservation@lacheneviere.com

Q: I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR?

A: There are so many ways to recreate this wonderful era, you can dress in almost any branch of military attire from any country (American, German, French, etc.) You can be a Nurse (which Wayne highly approves of), or just go with traditional civilian clothes, Tea Dress or Evening Gown – your choice. Here are a few online resources:

UK based Costume Hire Direct has great examples of the type of clothing both women and men would wear and they offer rentals

UK based Lindy Bopp – has great 1940s style Tea & Day Dresses for purchase at very reasonable prices

Wave of Nostalgia is a UK based shop/crafter in Haworth (West Yorkshire), recommended by one of our lovely photographers Kelly Clapperton. You order a ‘made to measure’ tea dress based on 1940s patterns – have a look at her site for some other great finds.

Some good resource websites to help you plan your attire for the weekend:

Friends of the 40s – Portal website for everything 1940s
Forties Clothing Buyer Guide – Link to a comprehensive list of suppliers of both military and civilian clothing for men & women

Q: WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY HAIR?

A: We are guessing that some of you lovely ladies will want to try your hand at a victory roll, so here are 2 videos that should help you on your quest for the perfect 1940’s ‘do:
